Nestled in the Sidhi and Shahdol districts of Madhya Pradesh, Sanjay-Dubri Tiger Reserve is an emerging hotspot for wildlife enthusiasts. Spanning over 1,674 square kilometres, this reserve comprises the Sanjay National Park and the Dubri Wildlife Sanctuary. Its dense Sal and bamboo forests form a vital natural corridor connected directly to Bandhavgarh National Park, allowing tigers and other wildlife to move freely between the habitats.
Historical Significance: This majestic landscape is historically famous as the birthplace of the world’s first captured white tiger, "Mohan," found here in 1951 by the Maharaja of Rewa. Today, every white tiger in captivity globally traces its ancestry back to this very forest. The reserve currently shelters Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, chital, nilgai, and more than 152 species of beautiful birds.
